Explaining the impact of changes in the Department of Labor’s Fiduciary Laws can be a complex and daunting task. LOMA, a 100+ year old insurance & financial services training organization engaged DVI to develop a video training series. The series needed to train a wide variety of employees, ranging from customer service personnel to investment brokers. The training system has been used at some of the largest financial firms including Charles Schwab, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs.
This series is an excellent example of conversational scripting to express a complex idea. It is also an example of a scalable, modular graphics package. By envisioning a number of scenarios in which we would use graphics, we are able to build a toolset that could handle virtually any need in future videos. By being efficient up front, we were able to push 13 videos through the post-production in a relatively short period of time. As future video needs arise for this company, we have a toolset pre-built and will be able to react quickly to any future demands.
Delta Air Lines
New and cross-training pilots have been struggling with copious amounts of materials to learn specific airline specific flight procedures. Delta Air Lines hires and trains 100’s of pilots a month. This new generation of pilots requires innovative ways to get up to speed, fast. Delta knew that if they could maximize instructor briefing sessions and decrease time in simulators, they could save millions of dollars.
In 2016, after an exhaustive search, Delta Air Lines entered into a multi-year agreement with The DVI Group for the redesign of all pilot training. The initial scope of the project was 108 (13-15 minutes long) training videos and supporting materials.
Delta has already seen a decrease in training failures resulting in a savings of 1-2 million dollars per fleet alone (9 fleets). They have also experienced Increased pilot retention through our comprehensive video training.
As a result, our project scope expanded, and the library of topics includes as many as 400+ training topics across all fleets.
Delta Air Lines has surveyed flight instructors and check pilots who certify new and cross-trained pilots below is a typical comment about the training series called eBrief:
