Nu Skin is a skincare company that focuses on luxurious ingredients and anti-aging properties. To market their products, they use direct selling by thousands of brand reps across the world—the foundation of their diverse and passionate community.
How do you stay compliant when your sales are driven by a huge group of independent team members across the globe? Our job was to craft videos that were interesting to watch and would set the standard for thousands of reps in several different countries.
They did a great job. Throughout the process, they took on our niche industry and delivered results that were very close to our vision on the first try. We were impressed with their willingness to work with such a specific subject matter.
Keeping things youthful
Nu Skin requested videos with a fun tone to keep reps engaged. We balanced practical selling tips and legal-approved messaging with a light, encouraging host tone. Our goal: to keep spirits high throughout the videos.
Style and substance
Nu Skin’s team members are overwhelmingly stylish, chic, and young. We wanted to nod to their aesthetic with concepts built to keep visual interest.
Cute and comforting
Our graphics team designed the visuals to look like hand-drawn flourishes, and they even consulted on set to help make the actors’ hand motions perfect for overlaid graphics. These intricate touches kept viewer interest on the video hosts and the various key insights of each video.
Nu Skin had a beautiful color palette to work with, so I really pushed for using all the colors and coordinating our actors’ outfits with their palette. Motion-wise, we leaned into a loose, illustrated style that exuded youth and fun. These graphics really provided a sense of freedom and organic movement to an otherwise plain compliance series….My team was even invited to come on set to direct the actors’ arm movements so we had good material to work with. As animators who are usually glued to the computer screen, this was a great opportunity for my department.
Taking a friendly tone
We wrote each script with both practicality and polish in mind, developing a fun, upbeat host voice that made the on-screen talent feel like a best friend.
